I’m sorry. :P But there is a reason he’s the figurehead and leader of a cult of personality. He is very persuasive and charismatic, because he uses his own empathy for others as advantage. He’s never had to lie to gain followers, the truth (or his view of it) is far more convincing. People are just drawn to him because he seems so deep, confident, altruistic and understanding. he attracts wayward souls who need something to believe in.
And he is all of those things, in a way. I don’t think he has malicious intentions either, it’s just a natural defense mechanism for him to manipulate everyone around him. He’s been severely abused and mistreated in his past, starting with his mother trying to murder him at birth due to his mutation, so he has a phobia of not being in control and being vulnerable like that ever again. But he really does think everyone is better off under his control and that he has the universe’s best interests at heart, that he’s the most competent person to be in charge.
